Water fun

I went to the Jurong East Swimming Complex yesterday … and it was fun. Since it was a public holiday, papa thought that today’s day would be quietly spent at the swimming complex but boy was he wrong, BIGTIME!

There was already a big crowd of people who had the same idea as papa. And when I say big, I mean huge. Just look at the photo and see what I mean.

Papa said that it reminded him of the Singapore versus Selangor matches when he was a teenager. I have absolutely no idea what he was talking about though. To me, the situation closely resembled the chaotic hustle of Petaling Street that I experienced during my KL trip.

Luckily, entering the complex was the only difficult thing to do because after getting our seats, it was a fun-filled day.

After changing to my swimming trunks, okay … pool diapers, mama brought me to the wading pools. I was a little apprehensive at first and I’m not shy to say it but I clutched on to mama for my dear life. You know … so much of water and so little of me. But after a couple of minutes, I had a great time playing with the water.

It truly was, a fun day spent.

8 months old

I'm 8 months old today.

I’m already in the mood for a party. I’ve got my pointy hat and the blow thingy. Come on and join the fun.

Okay, okay … I didn’t buy the party getup for my 8 month celebration. They were in a gift package I received for somebody’s birthday celebration I went yesterday. But what the hey, nobody’s going to stop my fun. I just can’t get the blasted blow thingy to work though.

Breast milk … good!!

I have this growing suspicion that mama is trying to wean me off her breast milk. How do I know? Well, for the umpteenth time in as many days, whenever I cried out of hunger, she would present the milk bottle first. But when after a few sips and finding it is not my usual breast milk, I would bawl and resist the bottle until she finally gives me my usual breast milk.

But there are times that she planned it around the time when I was really thirsty and I would just gulp down whatever is given to me. She’s one smart mama.

Its not that I don’t like bottled milk. But given a choice, I’ll take breast milk anytime.

Vi ‘r’ Us

Can you believe it! Now my mama is ill. There’s a flu bug hopping around my house and it’s infecting the people here. Well, at least big sis and papa are still okay. But for how long?

When mama’s sick, she is no mood to attend to cryings and quarrels. So I hope my bro and sis remember that, if not … she would surely blow her top.

Cuz Alya

I met with my cuz Alya today. My, my … she has grown big, nearly my size. Must be the canned milk she’s taking … hihihihi. I hear she’s a voracious sucker too … hehehehe … okay, okay … eater. When her mummy was not around, I tried to pinch her rosy chubby cheeks. She didn’t like it at all and took her revenge when she took away her toy which I was playing with. Hummph …

Lights, Camera … Action!!

I’m trying something new here. Its video blogging, oh yeahhh. Papa told me about this website, so I’m trying out a few videos here and there.

But the bad thing is that I’m using a camera phone to record any thing which is worth publishing, sorry. So that will explain the grainy movie play and a reduction in view size. Hope you guys don’t get myopia though.

I crawl here. I crawl there. I crawl everywhere. I crawl fast. I crawl straight. I crawl over. I crawl under. Sometimes because of that, I will find myself trapped between the legs of chairs and tables. Not finding a way out, a good cry would get a rescuer to save me from my predicament.

Jaws 2

I have here, a photo of my chompers… finally. Only the bottom 2 grew. The single one on top is still too shy to appear. Never mind, I’ll update you guys later when it‘s ready to be photographed.

Maybe now its time to order Pizza Hut?

All systems go

What a relief! I feel much better now. But don’t tell mama about it. It was great having mama carry me all day when I was sick. So just to be on the sneaky side… hihihihihi, I think I will carry on this act a little while longer … you know, free rides.

On the flipside, my brother is now down with fever. Yesterday it was me, now it’s his turn. I feel bad for him. The good thing is, (there’re always good things about bad things) that he’s not going to school. Which means I get to play with him all day, yippee.

For now let’s ponder on this.

Happy Baby

I love to laugh. The slightest eye contact and a smile will trigger a laughing fit. I can’t help it, I’m just a happy baby. Come see me laugh.

On my own

Here I am eating on my own.

The last time I talked about this, my hand/eye coordination was “shot” … I mean bad.

Look at the form now. Watch the arm movement. Look where my eyes are, they’re not even watching where the hands are going. My gross motor skills are excellent. Aren’t you amazed?

Dull Days

Mornings are now so dreary. My big bro and sis have started going to what mama called school. Every morning, I see them in their smart matching clothes and their bags going out with papa, leaving me all alone with mama.

Without big bro and sis, it’s quiet nowadays. Too quiet for my liking. Usually, there will be a loud ruckus made by sis and bro and me. We would play “bear-hugs” and “where’s the baby?” Now, after breakfast, mama will put me in the cot and I entertain myself with the toys inside. Where’s the fun in that?

So tired …

This happens to everyone. If you don't believe me, go and ask your parents. You'll be amazed.

I was so lethargic after the New Year's holiday. I slept late the previous night, I woke up too early the next day and the weather was dark and gloomy. Everything felt slow. I was having my brunch that day and before I finished it, this happens....

Rain, rain go away

My family and Uncle Shahrul’s family decided to get together and have a mini barbeque at West Coast Park yesterday. I don’t know what’s the fuss about but my bro and sis seemed so excited at the day’s event. What I’m excited about was the prospect of meeting with big sis Diana again and Hana. They’re a bunch of laughs.

We had a quick lunch at Mac’s and trooped off to find a quiet shaded spot to pitch our tent. As we were walking, I realized why my siblings were so excited coming here. There were tonnes and tonnes of playground to play with. Acres of space to run about. Pyramid rope that was sky-high. Swinging things that came in pairs. And vast amount of white-ish ground which I came to know as sand.

After getting everything settled, off went the kids to play in the sand. Since I can’t play on my own yet, I was stuck with the parents at the table. Hummph, I never get any fun.

Later, the sky grew dark and the kids were quickly bundled in the tent. The parents said that they were braving it out through the shower and that we’ll be just fine. I seriously doubt their concept of ‘fine’.

The heavens opened up and the rain came in sheets. The tent shook in the wind and thunder clang outside. It was the scariest moment of my whole 7 month life. But luckily, mama was there comforting me. Everything will be fine.

When the rain stopped, it was already late; the ground was too soggy for any barbeque and the sky was still threatening with more rain, the parents decided to cancel the barbeque and head back to Uncle Shahrul’s home. I second that idea and so did the rest of the kids. We quickly packed our belongings and said our goodbyes to the sand and the playground.

Happy New Year

To all my readers, have a wonderful and a more meaningful new year … on me. Really.
