Stop Press : I WALKED!!

Witnessed by mama, big bro & big sis, I, Ilya Firzana Bte Mohd Arzanjani walked 3 complete steps. I say 3 complete steps meaning from a standing position, I stepped LEFT, RIGHT & another LEFT.

Mama couldn't get any video cause it happened with a blink of an eye.... okay, okay, 5 blinks.

How did this happen?
Well, after taking the 1st left step, I got a bit worried, and so I stopped, squatted halfway, stood up again and took my right step. Got worried yet again and took that half-squat breather, stood up and took my last left step before sitting down.

Everyone was ecstatic. Everyone was smiling and clapping. I was so glad it happened. Though I missed the 9 months record, I'm still proud at myself for such accomplishments.

Hurray for me!!!!!

Man, its getting harder to churn out these pearls of wisdom. A baby can only do so much. But fret not; I will give the best and only the best.

Another new toy

Papa felt bad with the feedback he got for the ex-BOX360 present he got for me. So he went out and bought me a new ball.

But I think papa was cheated, the “new” ball looks broken. I mean look at all the holes the ball has. And there are also bits of plastic inside it.

Between this new toy and my ex-BOX360, I think I kind of like this one better because it makes a lot of loud noises. I love loud noises.

And to you guys, thanks a lot and keep it up. Why, well you guys complain, papa feels bad, I get a new toy. How can I complain?

Along is still the champ

Three more days to 10 months and I’m still unable to string 2 steps together. The best I could do was to move my right leg a few times but when I try to move the left... Bammm ... I fall.

Congratulations to Along for still holding the family record for the fastest to walk. I’m not really disappointed for not walking per se; it’s just that I am still worried about falling down. Am I to be scarred for life?

But at least, I can pass the baton to Alya. Maybe she can break Along’s walking record? She looks like she has the potential. When I was learning to climb up steps, she wanted to follow same. And she hasn’t even learned to sit yet.

Yehh, she might do it. I know I’ll be rooting for her. Go Alya Go.

This one I took off from somewhere. I loved the reality of it.

Playmates

Alya came by to visit me last week. I like having Alya around. She’s so much fun to play on ... errrr .... with. Before anyone says it, yes, I did share my toys with her. But the best thing was, she’s on my turf and her mother is not around … hihihihi (add sinister sniggering).

New Toy

Papa gave me a new toy last weekend. And it was not even my birthday. Papa called it the ex-BOX360. But whatever name it’s called, I loved it. It was the best present ever. It was so much fun.

Large one please

Look at the size of that thing.

Yes … yes … I hate to admit it but after much persuasion by mama and papa, my taste for powdered milk grew. It’s a great thirst quencher and great stomach filler. Once I finish a bottle, I get so full that I would actually and inevitably sleep. Wait, wait … I see a trend here.

Here’s my collection of milk bottles, from my baby days to my baby months… hihihihihi…

Can I upsize that order please?

Newsflash : First Step?

I took my first step. But I fell immediately after. Mama and papa was shocked for a few seconds and then burst into excitement. To prove that what I did was not a fluke. They propped me up again.

But I refused. Do you want to know why?

When I took that step, I immediately lost my balance. It was painful when I dropped my tushy on the hard floor. It scared me too.

Now I know why they always say,”The first step is always the hardest”. (ouch!! my aching bum)

PS : Mama and papa are still pondering whether I walked on my own or just tripped on my first step .

My trip to the Zoo

Yesterday, my family went to the Zoo. Me, being a baby, could not imagine what a zoo could be. Big bro describes it as where they show animals. I thought that’s what animal books do?

After a bus ride and several long minutes later, we arrived at this big and smelly place. This must be it. I know animals smell.

Apparently, mama had invited Aunty Ayu to come along too because I saw big sis Diana and Hana there waiting for us.

I love their company because they make a big fuss over me. They always treat me like a queen when I’m around them … hihihihi.

The place was huge and there were a lot of animals of different shapes and sizes. I don’t know most of them, but the best was these furry animals. They were from a cartoon I watched recently. You know, the one that went like this, "I like to move it, move it ..."

They were big and furry and I got to feed them. It’s nothing to be scared of. Yes, that’s my hand holding the banana. If the lemur was slow, the banana would have ended up in my mouth … hehehehe.

Because the zoo was so big and the day was hot, my enthusiasm dried up fast. By mid-day, I couldn’t care less about the elephants, tigers or monkeys. The Z-monsters just took over.
But it was a great first time experience for me. See you later animals!

Wonder twin power!

Shukur and Shukri came over today. Yes, the twins actually wanted to come to Obe’s house, that’s what they called papa anyways.

Alang wanted to go somewhere, can’t remember the name of the place, so papa agreed to babysit the two rascals, his words … not mine … heheheheh.

So to keep them entertained i.e. busy, mama got us to play with big sis’ doll house. I was amazed that the twins played like experts.

If you notice in the background, big sis is doing the story time channel on KIDTV for us

Sick week

Looks like a fever wave is passing through my home. Last Thursday, big sis went down with high fever. She's still recovering till now. I really pity her.

Then last Sunday, I was hit bad by the same fever wave. My temperature shot up to 39.1 deg. And not only that, the flu bug decided to make a visit to my nose too. Mannn ... I was crankiness at its worst.

Also, mama had a finger-cutting incident last weekend too. So with her, going at 50%, papa had to do lots of cleaning, washing and other house-stuff.

Big bro seems fine. Maybe his immune system is still top notch.

9 months old & 2 days old

I’m 9 months old, and drats! I’m still unable to walk unaided. Luckily, I have another 4 weeks to beat Along at his game. I’m not worrying yet, because my progress has been great so far.

I am now able to get up and stand from a seating position myself. I can stand longer now and when I get tired, I can slowly sit back down on my bum. I can shimmy along furniture or anything I can get hold on to move left or right. And I’m getting a bit more confident when I am lead by my arm to walk here and there.

I have here a little tag button BabyIlya that you can use to link my blog to yours. The code used is below.
