My rest at the Aloha Resorts was very refreshing. There was nothing else that need to be done except for eat, play, swim and sleep. That was the order of the day. The food was aplenty since each family brought in their own food (even though they were not asked) to spread around. It was great meeting up with my young cousins and the old grandpas and everyone else in between. See more pics in mama’s multiply site. Labels: Holidays |
As much as we wanted to stay longer in Melaka, we had cut short our holidays by a day. It seems Tok Long's side needs his condo on Sunday. So there goes my circus because the grown ups wanted to go to their ubiquitous ikan bakar feast on the last night. You know about the ikan bakar thingy. Head on over to MakTeh's multiply, she has loads of pics of the delicious feast there. So that's the end of that trip, and I did mention about having another vacation to recuperate from the Colmar trip ... right. Well, if you didn't know already. My family spent time at the Aloha Resorts over the weekend. Labels: Holidays |
We started off early in the morning, you know ... to beat the morning rush hour ... hihihihi. First stop, the botanical gardens. Touted to be the only only botanical gardens at altitude ... oooooo! altitude. Loved the word, papa taught me that. Used as in, don't give me any altitude or else I'll send you straight down into the gutters. Or something like that. As I was saying before I rudely interrupted myself, here's what the signboard declared. And the monkeys were were noisy; Next stop, the rabbits, deers and the donkeys; ![]() ![]() Here I am chasing a rabbit, ... or ermm ... being chased by rabbits ... hihihi At around midday, we headed back to Melaka. Colmar here we come! Early morning, after a breakfast of nasi lemak and prata. ooppps ... canai (as what they call it here), we set off to the highlands a.k.a. Bukit Tinggi. We were joined now by Pak Teh and his family. The ride was a non-event, I remember the sleeping and the eating and the sleeping again. And when I woke up last, the car was merrily going on a steep gradient up the mountain. My ears didn't even pop since I slept through that too ... hihihihi. It looked like the picture when I watched the Nemo movie. It was so high up, it might as well be in the clouds. When Atok finally parked, we stepped out of the car and the weather felt quite cool, just like being in the car. After dumping everything in the room, we went out to see the sights. First we saw was the beautiful swans in the mote under the bridge. The next thing we saw, was a playground. And you know these are a magnet to kids ... and also parents ... hihihi. The place itself was not that big. Mama said tomorrow we'll be going around by car to the other attractions. I couldn't wait. These are a few choice photos. If you want to see the rest, jump over to mama's multiply site. Tonnes of pictures there. Labels: Holidays |
Last Wednesday, with Tok Din and Nek Jah in tow, our family went up north for a bit of winding down trip. Mama wanted to go to Colmar Tropicale, somewhere in the mountains, somewhere. Since going there straight would be a stretch for Atok, the sole driver, we decided to have a pitstop by way of Melaka. So it was decided to get up to Melaka early so as to be fresh early the next day for the ride up to Bukit Tinggi. And of course, Tok Long was ever so gracious in letting us use his "getaway" condo. After a long ride into Melaka, papa wanted to celebrate my birthday makan at the local deli. We had the most scrumptious meal and topped it off with glorious ice cream. Now watch and learn. This is the way to eat ice cream, Ilya style...hihihi Labels: Holidays |
Sorry for the long wait. After the wonderful vacation I had last week, I just could not get myself into gear and blog. I think I need another vacation just to recuperate from the first vacation. Thank you! Thank you for the salutations. Yes I am 2 years old and plus. What does that mean? I have no idea … hihihihi. I’m just taking my life one step at a time. Now where have I heard this before? Hmmmm … Labels: Growing up |
